So where is Persephone? Still living in tiny single apt in Van Nuys. I've been sharing it for the last 7months with JT who most of you don't know unless you've seen me at a party recently. We are looking for a house to rent together...but in the interim now staying with us are his brother and for the last couple of weeks....my brother...who I hadn't seen since my mom died. My bro called reaching out for help....and so I am here at James' apt for the week hiding from my now very very overcrowded apartment. Actually, taking care of pook while James is on a biztrip but it feels like a mini vacation. (Really James...feel free to stay gone longer...Rowan and I are fine. No need for you to return anytime soon)

Other than the temporary overcrowding things are good. Mentally, physically and emotionally, all has been fairly smooth sailing.

Last year was all about hermitting and healing. This year will be about branching back out. Trying to reconnect with a few old friends...and just enlarging my circle slowly but surely.
I have a good, honest relationship with someone who makes me smile all the time.
I have friends, family and cats.
And while everything isn't perfect...and some of it isn't close. I am here and here is a hell of a lot better than it was a year ago.

In other news, things are pretty quiet. Not going out or doing much of anything. Just trying to adjust to life as a single mom and single woman.

Went to my friend DaBombs freaky Tiki party on Saturday....much fun had and I kept winning the raffle prizes...including a ten minute massage from dabomb herself....muy awesome. Also met a sweet cute guy who spent the evening grilling me about polyamory.

Just finished Leap of Faith, Queen Noor's memoirs. Wonderful wonderful wonderful book. I learned more about middle eastern history and politics than in my enter semester of world history. Fascinating stuff. I highly recommend this book to every one. The next one I plan to read is Queen Farah of Iran's book.

Ankle incision hurts like a mother fucking bitch................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hoping that healing starts soon. Doesn't help that I have been up and about way to often.

Not a whole lot going on in the immediate horizon...but August will be very interesting with a trip to Vegas and then Shayne and I off to Burning Man....Can't wait!

The vet bills are mounting up.

I know I've gotten crap for putting up my own paypal buttons here...... But these people are my friends and need help.

In my defense. I worked my ass off today. I cleaned the backyard, planted plants and just made the backyard in general a nice place. I vacummed, swept and mopped all the wood floors in the house. Rearranged the diningroom and my room, got the pook ready for bed and am now ready for bed myself.

whew!!! tomorrow back to peppers and peanuts.

Today you turn four years old and your daddy and I are so proud of you. Although we aren't quite sure how we safely managed to get you this far.
You are such the cool kid. Sweet, kind..good with all your friends. You love your mama with all your might and I love you just as much right back. More even.

I am so proud of you son and my greatest joy in this life has been and always will be watching you grow and change and mature.
